Hi, my name is Christian Barker. I live in Metairie, LA (about 10 minutes to New Orleans), and I'm 13 years old as of November 19, 2005. I am a bright and intelligent individual. I attend private schools and I'm a striaght "A" student and have been for all of my acedemic career. I even skipped a 6th grade and they put me into 7th grade honors and I finished the year at the top of my class. However, most of my teacher cannot believe how smart I really am becuase of my apperance; almost all of my teachers this year told me that I was smarter than I look. I'm involved in many clubs including newspaper, cheerleading, and gymnastics. I have helped my gymnastics team and cheerleading teams win numerous awards. In 2003, my schools cheerleading team went to nationals and we won 2nd place, that year I was center flyer for my squad and I was the most photographed preformer in the whole competition; I had over 560 pictures from the competition taken in two days. I'm also one of the most popular kids in the grade and one of the leading trend setters for the grade. All of my friends want to be like me so I take a great pride in my apperance to make it as close to flawless as possible and since all of my friends want to be like me you have to give them a reason to want to be like you. It seems as thought everyone has my sense of style, for example one week I wore Clark's suede moccassins and the next day everyone had them, a few weeks later I wore a pair of Sperry Ellis top-siders, and then everone got them. But I wasn't always like I'm today, I was shy, I hid behind my clothes, and worst of all I was the smart kid. If you've ever been to elementary school than you would know that the smart kid is rejected, despised, and made fun of by all the popular kids. Finally I decided I had to change, not to please them or to become one of them, but to become someone different from your everyday steriotypical smart kid. I changed the way i dressed and acted, but not who I was, not the things that made me different. I was soon accepted by the popular kids and became freinds with them. But I wanted something more, I didn't want to turn into te average steriotypical popular kid, I wanted to have a different style than everyone else (a preppier style that everyone wanted to look like), I wanted to be smarter than everyone else to show that popular kids didn't have to be the clones that are supposed to dress and act a certain way, I chose to do cheerleading and gymnastics instead of football and baseball, and I wanted to be myself something all the other popular kids had forgotten how to be. I have always been told that I handsome, I have a pretty smile, and that I should go into the entertainment business. Well before my "transformation" I would have never thought of it, but now that I've put it into some cosideration, It's something that I really want to do. Well, if you've read down this far you might be thinking one of two things, either you think I'm cocky, which I'm not, I'm just confident, and that's something you need to have in the entertainment business, or you could be thinking wow this kid sounds really great. So now after listening to me I hope you consider me for a role or a job, but if not thank you for listening.
Respectfully,
Christian J. Barker
